What is IDLS Scheme ?
Integrated Development of Leather Sector, is a scheme under 10th five year plan (2002-07) formulated by the Department of Industrial policy and Promotion, Governemt of India under Leather Development Program.

Objective

To achieve Modernization/technology up gradation / expansion
To achieve global competitiveness in terms of productivity, cost & quality.
To create employment opportunities
To enhance export potential
Environment safeguards

Scope of the scheme

Technology up gradation.
Productivity enhancement and waste minimization
Installation of quality control system, in house R & D and testing facilities.
Design development - hardware & IT solutions.
Pollution control devices
Replacement of obsolete machines.

Financial assistance (SSI & Non-SSI)

30% of cost of plant and machinery for SSI Units
20% of cost of plant for non SSI units
Subject to a Ceiling of Rs. 50 lakhs.

Continuation of the scheme

Though IDLS was commenced by the DIPP for the 10th Five Year Plan (April 2002 -March 2007), It could only be started from 3rd November 2005 and expired on 31st March 2007. It is in all likelihood to continue for the 11th Five Year Plan. Data under footwear Component * Application & Sanctions
