Council For Leather Exports with other associations organised a felicitation programmed for Dr Ramasami on his taking over as Secretary, Dept of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology Govt. of India at New Delhi. This is a far senior and challenging assignment.
IFCOMA president congratulated him & reminded of his outstanding contribution in the formation, drafting & recognition of footwear component sector to the extent that substantial amount was allotted by the Govt. under 10th plan for the growth of component sector. The footwear component park, grant under IDLS prgm, HRD and benchmark schemes are some of the modified plan covering components are from the original budget allotted under 10th plan.A momento was presented to him by our president.
In the address, Dr Ramasami first highlighted on footwear components & focused on ifcoma activities. He stated about the fund allocation during the 10th plan to promote the footwear component sector.
In his new assignment as secretary DST, much more supports can be taken from his ministry in terms of new technology development, funding of projects for the growth of component sector.
