Brief Report On Ludhiana BSM Cum Exhibition
Held On 8Th & 9Th June, 2002

 

The 13th Buyers-Sellers Meet cum Exhibition of Footwear Components was organised for the 2nd time in Ludhiana on 8th & 9th June, 2002 at Hotel City Heart. 31 Component Manufacturers including CFTI participated in the event. The participation was from all parts of the Country and almost all the Components required for making footwear were on display in the Exhibition.

The Fair was inaugurated on 8th June 2002 by Shri Anupam Bansal, Executive Director, Liberty Group and Shri Surinder Dawar, MLA was the Guest of Honour.

He is a well known name among area representing cluster of Footwear Manufacturers. He was kind enough in offering help from Government for setting up of Display Center at Agra.

Shri Dawar in his address congratulated IFCOMA for holding such Exhibitions & BSMs. He stated that these BSMs are very useful to bring small artisans & traders in touch with Component Manufacturers to upgrade their quality.

Mr. Anupam Bansal in his address praised IFCOMA for organizing such events throughout the country regularly thereby improving the quality of Footwear & making Components available to the smallest of Manufacturers.

Mr. Karan Anand, Secretary, IFCOMA in his welcome address informed the gathering that IFCOMA is orgainsing international BSM at Sri Lanka & participating in Vietnam also apart from other cities in India. He also stated that the main objective of these BSM is to bring revolution in the Footwear Sector of India. For this, It is necessary to "Create Awareness & Make Direct Linkage" between the Buyers & Sellers of Component, accessories equipment & the institutions like FDDI-CLRI-CFTI-SISI, and thus helping them in the total up-gradation of quality and volume of the footwear sector spread all over the country.

Mr. Vipan Seth looked after the entire arrangement for the BSM. In the end Mr. Virender Narula thanked the Chief Guest, Guests of Honor and the Participants.

The press & the TV media gave exhaustive coverage to the event.

An intensive campaign was undertaken to create awareness among the trade and Industry to visit the fair through Press Advertisement, Banner Posters etc.

More than 1000 visitors visited the fair & business more than 50 Lakhs was transacted during the meet.

The industry welcomed the holding of such fairs & opined that this should be made a regular yearly event in Ludhiana.
