IFCOMA's first unique ONE-STOP DISPLAY CUM RESOURCE CENTRE is now ready and would be inaugurated shortly. Thanks to FDDI and the Ministry of Commerce for the support under the 10th five year plan.

The display centre has shelves for the members to showcase their products. The center also provides lock and key shelves for keeping their important documents. It has colourful advertising banners inside the hall. The outer building has been designed for members to place advertising boards as well.

BSM Colombo, Srilanka
IFCOMA' GOES GLOBAL with its 1st BSM in Colombo, Srilanka on 5th & 6th February 2003. The BSM cum Exhibition was organized for the first time in Sri Lanka by Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) and supported by Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) and Sri Lanka - German Private Sector Promotion Project at Hotel Galle Face. About 20 Indian companies participated in the same to create awareness amongst small and medium scale Footwear manufacturers and provide direct linkage between buyers and sellers of the quality footwear components.

The fair was inaugurated on 5th February, 2003 at 10.00 A.M by Mr.Ranjit Fernando, Secretary, Ministry of Enterprise Development, Industrial Policy, Investment Promotion and Constitutional Affairs in the presence Honourable Guests Mr Mohan Kumar, Dy High Commissioner of India, Mr Ranjit Hettiarachchi, President of Ceylon Chamber of Industries, Mr Sarath Rathamal, President of Sri Lanka Footwear Association. Mr Mani Almal president IFCOMA welcomed the Honourable Guests, invitees, participants and the press to this 1st BSM at Colombo.
The inauguration function was also attended by Mr. Jorge Carbojal MD of Bata Shoe Co of Ceylon Ltd. Mr Nimal Samarkkoday, Chairman, CLPL, Mr Nathaniel of Pima Holding Ltd, Ms Indira Malwate, Director, Export Promotion Board, Mr K. Rajapaksa from DSI group and Mr Bernard of PSP / GTZ with their team of experts.
Honorable Chief Guest Mr. Ranjit Fernando, Secretary for the Industrial Policy & Development Ministry said that India is the best neighbour to have a connection with industrial, political or “cultural affairs" and expressed open and spontaneous approach to agree to provide a venue for opening a wholesale center in Colombo for footwear components. He further informed that the Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Wickremesinghe's is trying to make Sri Lanka a Free Trade Zone and said that the Government has reduced import duties on Footwear Components to 10 percent.
IFCOMA "KOLKATA BSM 2003"
The Kolkata BSM 2003 held on 8th & 9th March ended with much satisfaction because of new visitors from the large un-organised footwear sector. There were 300 visitors and new entrants were the small and tiny shoe and chappal manufacturers who had never been exposed to such exhibition with one to one meet with the component manufacturers. 38 companies from all over India displayed there products in an area of 6000 sq ft Khudiram Stadium adjacent to Netaji Indoor Stadium.
