The Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act and is the only trade association of Component Manufacturers in India. It is a non-profit organization managed by a duly elected apex body called the Executive Committee. The National Leather Development Programme and various ministries of the Government of India duly recognize our association. The growth achieved by IFCOMA in the last twenty years is a result of the true democratic spirit of a vast number of dedicated entrepreneurs and professionals who have worked ceaselessly for the cause of the industry.
With the support of Footwear Design & Development institute (FDDI), NOIDA , within the purview of Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, New Delhi we have set up a unique display center exhibiting the latest footwear components and upgraded technology adopted by the manufacturers of footwear components and members of IFCOMA. We have a strength of over 200 members comprising of manufacturers of Sole, Insole, Lasts, Toe puff and Counter, linings, Interlinings, adhesives, Metallic fittings, Chemicals & Compounds, Clicking Dies, Eyelets, EVA Sheets & Compounds, Finishes & Polishes, Labels, Laces etc.
Activities undertaken in the past few years by IFCOMA
We have so far organized thirty eight “Road shows” / Buyers sellers Meet cum exhibitions of Footwear Components in the Footwear Manufacturing clusters all over the country, a unique event undertaken for the first time in India. The primary objective of this is to “Create Awareness” and “Direct Linkage” between Manufacturers of Components and the Artisan / SME’s and the SSI sector. As a result of these shows we have been able to reach to more than 8000 of such manufacturers all over the country.
Through these shows we have been able to create awareness among the Artisans and Micro Entrepreneurs as well as the organized sector to the availability of quality components at affordable prices within the country. In fact we have been successful in providing Components to them at their doorstep. So far we have conducted such shows at Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Ambur, Vijaywada, Hyderabad & Agra.

Our participation in these fairs has created awareness among the International Footwear buyers of the fact, that quality Components are being produced in India. Footwear Components from India have been endorsed by major international brands including-
By participation in these fairs we have accelerated the export of our Components, directly and also indirectly i.e. by way of supplying components to the Footwear Exporters from India on the recommendations of the Foreign Buyer, who is the deciding factor for the use of components. This activity is not only helping the Component Industry but is also helping the country by reducing Imports thereby saving valuable foreign exchange.
IFCOMA has initiated to organize Buyers Sellers Meet in the SAARC region. So far we have organized 10 BSMs at Bangladesh (6) & Sri Lanka (4) and also participated in the fairs at Pakistan & Sri Lanka.
